SUMMARY
I build systems that last, and have done for over a decade. That means technology stacks which "just work", not create more work. Services which survive contact with users, and don't fail the second I leave the building. If I set out to do something, I'm doing it properly.
I started out on the Helpdesk; broken keyboards, locked AD accounts, you know the drill. Worked my way up from there; primarily in smaller companies, predominantly in the finance sector. Got my hands on as much as I could, and learned how to make it work. Especially the stuff nobody else wanted to touch.
These days? It's cyber. Building defences for critical systems, assuring existing ones. Keeping things on the right side of the fence, whichever side that is. I help the rest of the crew keep things running, and keep everything secure.
I spend way too much time designing circuits in Factorio, building in Cities: Skylines, and I regularly dust off Warzone 2100. About once a year I get on a stage and make low frequency waveforms for charity. Occasionally I make cake.

SUPPLEMENTARY
Helped platform users learn to code as a forum "Super User" (Sept-2019), then volunteer Moderator (Mar-2020).
Beta tested new courses before release to platform. Involvement ended after acquisition by Skillsoft.
I regularly* perform on-stage in Sheffield, as part of a charity ensemble show put together by some University friends to celebrate their wedding anniversary. (* Annually... and some years I make more mistakes than others...)
Current workhorse is a Yamaha BB434 into an Ampeg RocketBass combo cab. Ibanez SR and Fender P-Bass round out the collection.
Current fave pedals include All Pedal's "Galactavise" compression, Way Huge's "Atreides 'Analog Weirding Module'", and MXR's Bass Synth.
I maintain my own AWS, Azure, and Heroku environments for educational and hobby purposes.
